Come and experience a bus tour and discover the Island's Untold Legacy of the African Bermuda Dispersion Cultural Tour 2020 which will take you on a Sankofa Journey of the Enslaved & Religious Freedom.
Roughly 60 percent of Bermudians are of African Ancestry, many of whom are descendants of West African and West Indian slaves brought here during the 17th century.
We will visit sites based on stories of Enslaved people and learn of their struggles for Religious Freedom on the Island.
Departure point: The Titan bus will be parked directly outside The Visitor Service Center on Front Street,Hamilton, near the Ferry Terminal.
The tour is 2 hours and 30 minutes & bus will depart promptly at 10:00AM & return at 12:30PM

Highlights
Cobbs Hill Methodist Church-
A place of worship was built by the enslaved and the free blacks, and completed in 1827. Most of the work was done during their free time at night. It is today the oldest Methodist building existing in Bermuda.
The Old Graveyard by the Rubber Tree-
A memorial for the Enslaved and Free Blacks who were buried before Emancipation and it is now disused.
Sarah “Sally” Bassett, sculpture-
An Enslaved woman accused of poisoning a slave owner, and being the ringleader of the poisoning plots in the 1700's.
